SEGA Announces iOS Winter Lineup

Unlike Nintendo, who refuses to port their games to iOS devices, SEGA has embraced mobile gaming. There are plenty of SEGA titles already available on the App Store, including eight Sonic the Hedgehog games, with four more releases planned for this winter.

Sonic the Hedeghog

Touch Arcade got an early look at SEGA's upcoming iOS lineup which includes a remastered version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing: Transformed.

SEGA also plans to release Rhythm Thief & The Paris Caper and an action RPG game called Demon Tribe to the app store next year.

All Sonic the Hedgehog iOS Games Reduced to 99 cents

Unlike Nintendo, SEGA has fully embraced mobile gaming by bringing its classics like Sonic the Hedgehog to Apple and Android devices. There are currently 8 Sonic games available in the Apple App Store, and starting today they are only $0.99. This is a pretty good deal since some titles like Sonic CD were originally $6. Check out a complete list of $0.99 Sonic the Hedgehog games below, and prepare yourself for some awesome retro gaming on your iPhone or iPad. It's unknown how long this sale will last, so make sure you download your favorite Sonic title today!

Sonic the Hedgehog iOS

The original Sonic the Hedgehog game that started it all is only $1! The iOS version is optimized for the iPhone 5, and features new characters Tails and Knuckles.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was remastered for iOS devices in 2010. However, it has not been updated for later devices such as the iPhone 5.

Both Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I and II have been discounted from $4.99 to $0.99. Now you can download both episodes for less than the original asking price of one.

Sonic Dash Now Available for the iPhone and iPad

SEGA has released another Sonic the Hedgehog game for iOS devices while Mario fans are stuck with cheap ripoffs (see below), or no games at all. Sonic Dash for the iPod, iPhone and iPad was released to the App Store earlier this week. The game is an platform jumper (think Temple Run) featuring Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

iPhone Games

In Sonic Dash users can complete 48 different levels to stop the evil Dr. Eggman in Story Mode, or they can choose to go the endless runner route in Arcade Mode. There is also a Challenge Friends mode where players can compete head-to-head for the highest score. The game includes plenty of power ups, boss battles and the promise of "future free updates".
