SEGA has released another Sonic the Hedgehog game for iOS devices while Mario fans are stuck with cheap ripoffs (see below), or no games at all. Sonic Dash for the iPod, iPhone and iPad was released to the App Store earlier this week. The game is an platform jumper (think Temple Run) featuring Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.
In Sonic Dash users can complete 48 different levels to stop the evil Dr. Eggman in Story Mode, or they can choose to go the endless runner route in Arcade Mode. There is also a Challenge Friends mode where players can compete head-to-head for the highest score. The game includes plenty of power ups, boss battles and the promise of "future free updates".
Sonic Dash is available now for $1.99. It is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd, 4th and 5th generation) and iPad. It requires iOS 4.3 or later, and is optimized for the iPhone 5.Here is a list of other Sonic games available for iOS devices.
