How do I save / backup my iOS / iPhone notes?

Notes from the stock iOS Notes app can be synced, backed up and viewed on a computer. If you take notes with an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, these are included in the default iTunes and iCloud backups. To view and edit notes on your computer, you must sync Notes with iTunes.

From the iTunes Info tab, select the checkbox next to Other -> Sync notes.

After you sync or backup the iOS device, your notes will appear in the OS X Mail app or in Outlook on a Windows machine.

Alternatively, you can open a note and tap the share button in the lower left corner. This will provide options to Message, Email, Copy or Print the note currently being viewed.

I don't share my notes with Apple - hence don't use iCloud. To back up the notes offline, I use this method instead:

I think backup notes to Gmail is much more convenient.
Step 1: On your Home screen, tap on Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account. Select "Gmail".
Step 2: Fill in your name, full email address, Gmail password and description. Then make sure to turn Notes on.

If you want to backup all notes on iPhone, the iTunes/iCloud could be good methods. But if you need export only a part of contacts from your device to PC, you can use other methods like AnyTrans, http://www.imobie.com/anytrans/index.htm, which enables you export selected contacts on iPhone to V-Cards which you can transfer to another device, Mac, iOS or android.

Wow, this is much better!

Thank you.

the problem with backing up notes from ios to gmail is that if you inadvertantly delete your gmail notes (which look like normal emails with your notes in them), they will then be deleted from your ios.

TouchCopy will backup your iPhone notes to your PC or Mac nicely, see here how to do it.

I'm concerned about PII or otherwise confidential information in my Notes not being sent over the internet. Does this app just communicate between the iPhone and the PC using the USB cable, or does it send the information across the web during this backup process?

Any suggestions from 2015? The method that used to work (as listed above) no longer works because the Notes has been removed from the "other" section (where you find Calendar, Email, etc). And iCloud Notes only store notes written since whatever update it was in mid 2015. So I have some 25 notes in iCloud - I can access those online. But there are 125 on my phone listed as Local Notes -- and I can't get to them via iTunes/plugging my phone into my laptop.

jen, i can't find anything to help me backup my notes... have you found anything yet?

Dear Apple,

I texted a long paragraph about somthing, then I select all the paragraph and I clicked a key "space" by mistake, then I shocked very much, because I lost every thing, and that was annoying me so much, also I spent a lot of time on that paragraph,

Finally my question is there a way or tool to go back one steps, or return to the lastest varsion,

Regards , I would like to find a solution for me,
