Take an Apple Watch Guided Tour, Pre-Orders Start Friday

Apple has started posting detailed Guided Tour videos ahead of the Apple Watch launch on April 24. The videos, on a special Welcome to Apple Watch page are focused on showing owners and potential buyers how to make the most of Apple Watch. In addition to a general welcome video showcasing Apple's "most personal device yet", there are several focused tours on the way.

At the time of this writing, Messages, Faces and Digital Touch are live. Others labeled Coming Soon include Phone Calls, Siri, Maps, Music, Apple Pay, Activity, and Workout. The tours are around two minutes or less, showing how Apple Watch operates along with key functions of the device. At the bottom of the Guided tour page is a collection of all previously released Apple Watch films from the keynote announcement and beyond.

Apple has announced that pre-orders will be offered in specific countries, and will begin at the following times on April 10:

US - 12:01 AM PT (3:01 AM ET)
Australia - 5:01 PM AEST
Canada - 12:01 AM PT (3:01 AM ET)
China - 3:01 PM
France - 9:01 PM
Germany - 9:01 PM
Hong Kong - 3:01 PM
Japan - 3:01 PM
UK - 8:01 AM

Also on Friday, April 10 the Apple Watch will debut at Apple retail stores. Potential buyers will be able to make reservations to try on the device and consult with an Apple employee for 15 minutes. Of course, the device can also be ordered online. Launch day is April 24, just two weeks after pre-orders start.

Reports indicate Apple will offer AppleCare+ plans for Apple Watch collections, at varying price points.

Apple Watch: $79
Apple Watch Edition: $999

AppleCare+ extends the standard limited warranty and complimentary support period to two years (three years for Apple Watch Edition). The service also adds accidental damage coverage for two incidents, subject to a $79 service fee for each repair. The coverage can be added at the time of purchase or afterwards for up to 60 days.
