'Steve Jobs' teaser trailer hits YouTube

Steve Jobs (2015)

The teaser trailer for Danny Boyle's biopic Steve Jobs has landed on YouTube. The film is based on the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson and screenplay by Aaron Sorkin. It stars Michael Fassbender as Jobs, Seth Rogan, Jeff Daniels, and Kate Winslet.

Here's the official synopsis from stevejobsthefilm.com:

"Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, Steve Jobs takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter."

"Michael Fassbender plays Steve Jobs, the pioneering founder of Apple, with Academy Award®-winning actress Kate Winslet starring as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley. The film also stars Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team."
Jobs (2013)

This is the second movie to be released about the Apple CEO since his death in 2011. Joshua Michael Stern's Jobs was released in 2013 starring Ashton Kutcher. The film was a dud at the box office only earning $6.7 million its opening weekend, and it was also universally panned by critics and audiences. The movie is described as having the feel of an "over-sentimentalized made-for-TV biopic," by rottentomatoes.com.

A satire of the all the Jobs movies called iSteve was also released in 2013. Jobs was portrayed by Justin Long and the film was directed by longtime SNL writer Ryan Perez. However, the original 1999 made-for-TV film Pirates of Silicon Valley is probably the most popular Steve Jobs movie ever made. The film follows Jobs and Bill Gates throughout various points in their careers. All three films are currently available on DVD or Blu-ray.

Steve Jobs will be in theaters on October 9, 2015.
