Where are Music / iPod controls in iOS 7?

iOS users listening to music could always quickly skip tracks or stop tunes from playing thanks to iPod controls on the home screen. All it took was a double press of the home button and these controls would appear. iOS 7 provides similar functionality, but the controls cannot be accessed the same way.

To bring up music controls from the lock screen or home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center. Song information and music controls are found in the middle of the Control Center, under the brightness slider.

Where is the Safari search bar in iOS 7?

Apple left no corner of iOS untouched in its iOS 7 redesign effort. Mobile Safari is no different, and some users of earlier versions of iOS may be wondering what happened to the Search field.

Don't worry, you can still enter a search term or a web address. iOS 7 takes cues from modern desktop browsers and provides only one text field for either input. The bar at the top of your browser in iOS 7 will display the URL of the current web site, or appear blank if you're not viewing a page.

Enter your search term or address in this field directly to start browsing.

Why is swipe to delete not working on iOS 7 Mail / Messages?

Swipe to delete has not been removed, but it works differently in iOS 7. Users of Messages and Mail on iOS devices have gotten used to swiping from left to right to delete a message. The gesture has been reversed in iOS 7.

To delete a text or iMessage swipe from right to left over the message, then tap the Delete button.

To delete an email message swipe from right to left over the message, then tap the Trash button. Alternatively you can tap the More button to get other options, such as Reply, Forward, Flag, Mark as Read, Move to Junk and Move Message.

How do I quit a running app / kill an app in iOS 7?

The app switcher in iOS 7 has been redesigned by Apple. One of the new things that iOS 7 users will see is that the multitasking dock no longer shows simple app icons. There's a preview of the entire app screen above the icons. So how can you stop an app from running, or remove its preview and icon from the app switcher?

To quit an app in iOS 7 follow these instructions:

1. Double press the home button to bring up the app switcher.
2. Swipe left or right until you see the app to quit.
3. Touch and hold the app preview and swipe it up off the screen.
