People can now win real money playing Angry Birds

Angry Birds has joined Wheel of Fortune, Solitaire, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit on the roster of available games through the WorldWinner app. Angry Birds Champions is an officially licensed game where players can fling their favorite feather friends to earn cash.

WorldWinner told Engadget that the new title is really the "original Angry Birds physics game" where players can compete against each other for a cash prize.

Nintendo adds new characters to Fire Emblem Heroes and Animal Crossing

Fire Emblem Heroes has been updated to version 2.1.0 with a new heroes from the Nintendo Wii title, Radiant Dawn. The new heroes will be available through future summoning events. They include Micaiah, Sothe and Zelgiu. You can see the new heroes and their abilities in the video below.

Pathfinder Duels is another officially licensed mobile title based on the popular physical RPG, Pathfinder, from Paizo Publishing. Pathfinder Adventures is the actual digital adaptation of Pazio's Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, while Pathfinder Duels is a collectible card game "inspired" by the Pathfinder Universe.

Apple has announced its Best of 2017 for the App Store. This year the winners for the best app and game were announced alongside the Trends of the Year. App Store editors identified "four breakout trends" in app culture such as AR (augmented reality), real-time multiplayer games, mental health and reading.

Apple introduced its ARKit for developers in iOS 11. The new technology allows iPhone and iPad owners to use their devices to interact with virtual objects digitally rendered over the real world. Developers have already created hundreds of apps and games making AR the top trend of 2017, according to Apple.
