iPhone Tweak Launches Apps When Headphones are Plugged In

Talk about convenience. A new jailbreak tweak called HeadphoneLauncher automatically brings up a media dock when the headphones are plugged in. The tweak can be configured using settings to provide access to multiple apps directly from the lock screen.

You can decide exactly which apps you want to appear in the lock screen launcher after the headphones are plugged in. Once the tweak detects the presence of headphones, these app icons pop up along with standard media controls (play, pause, etc).

Record iOS Message Times With SMS Timestamps

The iOS Messages app writes timestamps to selected incoming and outgoing SMS, MMS and iMessage notes. Selected because Apple has designed Messages to only write the timestamp after a certain amount of time has passed. This can result in long threads with no record of when the messages were sent.

Now thanks to the SMS Timestamps tweak on Cydia, you can choose to write a timestamp to every message if desired. The tweak also has options to write a timestamp in the Messages app in intervals of 1, 5 or 10 minutes so you know exactly what's going on.

iSleepWell Turns Off iPhone Radios Automatically

If you're looking for more quiet in your life, one place to start might be silencing your iPhone. Thanks to a new tweak, this can be accomplished automatically when the device is in a screen-down position. This is perfect for sleeping, as the tweak works by entering Airplane Mode, which also shuts off all radios on the iPhone.

Not only will this insure peace and quiet, but it will prevent all of those RF signals from being emitted from your iPhone on the nightstand. iSleepWell notifies you that it's about to enter Airplane Mode after the iPhone is turned face down, then vibrates when the setting has been activated. Pick up the iPhone and your connectivity is restored.

Change iPhone Lockscreen Clock and Date Colors

Customizing the colors of your iPhone lockscreen time and date is simple, provided you have already jailbroken your device. A new tweak available on Cydia makes it possible to choose any color for the display, instead of the default white.

ClockColor iPhone tweak

ColorClock can be found in Cydia under Sections -> Tweaks or by using the Search function. The tweak comes to us from developer Rudolph Lichtner for free. You can choose custom colors for the time and date separately using Settings.

Cydia Updated to Remove April Fool's Joke

Last Year's April Fool's joke reappeared in Cydia today, thanks to code that checked for the date and displayed a Twitter-inspired Quick Bar. Saurik explained that the prank was intended to emulate the discontinued Twitter iPhone app feature, which received poor reviews. The Quick Bar automatically displayed promoted tweets.

Cydia QuickBar April Fools Update

The feature was renamed the "dickbar" by some frustrated users before it was eventually removed by Twitter. Saurik realized that some people might get confused by the feature reappearing every April 1st, so he removed the code once and for all. Cydia 1.1.6 incorporates this change and can be updated using the Cydia app.
