Report: Foxconn Gearing Up for iPhone 5S Production
Submitted by Frank Macey on
The iPhone 5S has completed testing and Foxconn Technology Group is ramping up for production, according to the latest from Focus Taiwan. The company is looking to hire up to 90,000 workers at its Shenzhen plant as Apple is expected to release the next iPhone in September. Foxconn is already the world's largest contract electronics maker.

Orders from Apple are expected to make up 40 percent of the company's total sales in 2013, accounting for a quarter of Foxconn's revenue for the year. Although the Taiwanese manufacturer will be producing the iPhone 5S, its rival Pegatron has been chosen by Apple to produce the lower-priced iPhone 5C. The 5C is also expected to launch this fall.
