iOS 7.1 Now Available [Changelog]

Apple has released iOS 7.1 which brings a number of changes such as CarPlay support. Other new features include the ability to control Siri by holding down the Home button while you speak, the ability to purchase songs from the Now Playing section of iTunes Radio, a month view for the Calendar app, and a new Camera setting which automatically enables HDR for the iPhone 5s.

Apple, Megafon Sign Deal to Sell 750,000 iPhones in Russia

Reuters has reported that Megafon, Russia's second biggest mobile phone operator, has signed an agreement with Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) guaranteeing it will purchase 750,000 iPhones over the next three years.

Report Shows Increase in Apple's U.S. Smartphone Market Share

comScore Inc., a leading digital measurements and analytics firm, today released its MobilLens and Mobile Metrix data for the last quarter of 2013, ending January. The data show top smartphone manufacturers, top mobile platforms, top apps and top properties.

According to comScore's data, smartphone owner ship increased by 7% during the last quarter, up to 159.8 million people. Smartphones accounted for 66.8% of all phones. Apple once again led the pack as the top smartphone OEM (original equipment manufacturer) with 41.6% of all subscribers, up 1% since October. Top Apple rival, Samsung, was second with 26.7%, and LG, Motorola and HTC were distant followers with 6.9%, 6.4% and 5.4% respectively.

iOS App of the Week: Livr - A Social Network for Drunk People

Livr is a social networking application which requires users to fail a breathalyzer test before they are able to log in and connect with other inebriated members. The app promises to deliver "an online party at all times," and a mom-free experience (unless your mom is a drunk too) for drunk adults.

The app includes several features and social games for members to participate in. The Hot Spots section allows users to find the hottest hangouts by revealing the highest B.A.C. ratings of locations tagged by other members. Members can also stay at home and earn points by playing Truth or Dare, or use the Drunk Dial feature to randomly connect and chat with other drunk strangers.
