Apple has officially designated its original Apple Watch as obsolete. This decision coincides with the launch of the Apple Watch Series 9, and marks the first instance where the 38mm and 42mm first-generation Apple Watch models have been included in the obsolete category.
Apple has added a new 48-megapixel file format to its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro lineup. While it was previously possible to snap a 48 MP image in Apple ProRAW on these devices, iOS 17 and later includes the option for HEIF Max.

T-Mobile is making changes that will impact subscribers' monthly phone bills, increasing costs per line between $5 and $10 per month. Those on older T-Mobile smartphone plans may soon find themselves switched to a newer, more expensive plan without their consent. While these involuntary "upgrades" are coming, there is a way to prevent this. Users can opt-out of these plan changes, and keep their existing data plan moving forward.
The Apple TV has come a long way in gaming thanks to the addition of many third-party controllers to tvOS. Gone are the days when only a handful of MFi wireless controllers can be used to play your favorite titles on Apple TV and Apple TV 4K.

Apple has brought offline maps to Apple Maps with the launch of iOS 17. This feature simplifies navigation in unfamiliar areas, cuts data usage, and helps to prevent getting lost in areas with weak network signals. Maps for areas of interest can be downloaded in advance when a data connection is available. Just keep in mind that real-time information like traffic incidents may not be available on offline maps.
