PopCap has released a teaser trailer for Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time. The video posted to YouTube offers very little information about the upcoming game, but it does mention the sequel will be released sometime this July.
Some fans are concerned that the sequel will be plagued by too many in-app purchases now that PopCap is division of Electronic Arts Inc. Various iOS users have complained that the in-app purchases and upgrades for EA's Real Racing 3 were unreasonable, and made the game unbearable to play. Fans have their fingers crossed that EA does not go down the same road with the Plant vs. Zombie sequel.
Plants vs. Zombies is one the most popular paid iPhone apps of all-time. It's currently available for $0.99 through the App Store.
PopCap has also been developing a social media version of the game called Plants vs. Zombies Adventures.
