The first episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones game on the App Store is now free. iOS users can now check out Episode 1: Iron from Ice before deciding if they want to buy additional episodes for $4.99 each, or all six episodes for a one time download fee of $19.99.
The Telltale video game takes place in the HBO Game of Thrones universe and follows the story of House Forrester, which was briefly mentioned in the novel A Dance with Dragons. The events of the game take place starting from the end of the third season and follow along with the television series. The game also includes characters from the TV show, plus 13 new playable and non-playable characters created for the Telltale series.
Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series is an episodic point-and-click adventure where a player's decisions influence the events of the game. Episode 1 begins with the Red Wedding, where the head of House Forrester, Lord Gregor Forrester, is killed. Players can control one of the five playable characters in the game, and decide the ultimate fate of the house.
Today is also the day Episode 5: A Nest of Vipers is supposed to become available, but the update has not yet hit the App Store.
New players can download Episode 1 of Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series for free from Apple App Store. Additional episodes are available as in-app purchases. The game supports all devices running iOS 7.1 or later.
