Use Siri to send money with PayPal

Now Siri can be used to deliver money to iOS contacts with PayPal. Sending a payment in 30 different countries is as simple as saying "Hey Siri, send Omar $60 with PayPal." The money will be delivered after confirming transaction details in a dialog box. In fact, payments can be sent or requested using natural language. As long as the word PayPal is included in the command, Siri will understand how to proceed.

According to PayPal, there were $41 billion in transfers using PayPal, Venmo and Xoom last year. The company is predicting that peer-to-peer transactions will number 17 million during the month of December alone. Adding Siri support to PayPal 6.7.0 will streamline the service for many just in time for the busy holiday season.

Once you are updated to the latest version of PayPal, Siri can be activated by navigating to Settings -> Siri -> App Support. Apple opened up Siri to third-party developers just two months ago, making a variety of new uses possible. PayPal was not the first payment app to receive Siri support, with PayPal subsidiary Venmo beating it to the punch.

Support for Siri is localized to work in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium (French and Dutch), Brazil, Canada (English and French), China, Denmark, Finland (Finnish), France, Germany, Hong Kong (Cantonese), India, Israel (Hebrew), Italy, Japan, Malaysia (Malay), Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia (Arabic), Singapore (English), Spain, Sweden, Switzerland (French, German, and Italian), Thailand, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates (Arabic) and the United States.

PayPal also includes a new feature that makes it easy to invite others to sign up. Find the PayPal app on iTunes for free. PayPal requires iOS 8.1 or later and 190 MB of storage to install.
