Apple Music fans can add songs to their library from anywhere. While this feature can be convenient, an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch can fill up with tracks quickly. iOS devices automatically download songs when they are added to an Apple Music library. If your device needs more storage, these automatic downloads can easily be turned off.
To stop Apple Music from automatically downloading songs to the iPhone, follow these steps on your device:
- Navigate to Settings
- Scroll down and tap Music
- Toggle Automatic Downloads OFF (grey slider)
Once Apple Music downloads are switched off, tracks will no longer be copied to your iPhone storage after they are added to the Apple Music library.
