Some iPhone users are reporting a bug in iOS 8 that causes them to receive two messages for one group thread. For example, you have a group titled "Soccer Moms" with six contacts assigned to that group. Five of those user's texts are delivered via the group thread but 1 is delivered via a separate thread / text window. This is just one of many confusing problems plaguing Apple's new iOS 8 group messaging features.

Here's a quick look at all the new features Apple has added to its default Mail app in iOS 8.
Swiping left or right on an email now brings up the more options. Swipe left for "More," "Flag" or "Trash," and swipe right to quickly mark an email as Unread or Read. You can also customize these options under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Swipe Options.
The Messages app has been updated in iOS 8 to allow you to record a video or take stills and send them, all from within the app. This is useful for quickly recording something when you're in the middle of a text conversation. Here's how:
1. In your Messages app, tap and hold the camera icon on the bottom left (or top left of your keyboard if that is open).
Here's how to send a voice text in iOS 8:
1. Open the Messages app and find the text thread or person you want to send a voice text
2. Tap the microphone button to record your message
3. Swipe up to send it

Looking for extra security in the stock Messages app? The jailbreak tweak ConvoProtect can be used to lock and hide conversation threads. The package adds this functionality to iOS and even works with third party apps WhatsApp and Kik.
Once installed, texts and iMessages can be secured by selecting the contacts or groups involved in the threads to be locked. Entering a passcode will lock the conversation. After a conversation is locked, accessing its contents will require entering the passcode.
