Hearthstone gets into the Halloween spirit with new event

Hearthstone Hallow's End

The collectible card game Hearthstone is still going strong on the App Store, and this October it is bringing the extra spooky with its Hallow's End event. The Headless Horseman is back with Halloween treats for players who simply log in between October 17 and 10 p.m. PDT on October 31. Players will receive a free golden Witch’s Cauldron card and an Arena ticket as a Halloween treat.

Hallow's End will also include a dual class Arena where players can participate as each of the nine classes in costume. During the event you will choose a Hero and a Hero Power. You will then receive cards from both classes to use with with your free arena ticket.

Minecraft discontinued on Apple TV

Minecraft Graves

Apple's dream of the Apple TV becoming a major player in the console market just took a major blow from Microsoft. One of the best selling video games, Minecraft, has been removed from the tvOS App Store due to a lack of players. Support for the game ended on September 24, but most news outlets did not notice until this week, highlighting the lack of interest of video games on the Apple TV.

It was a pleasant surprise when Aspyr Media originally released a full port of Civilization VI for the iPad. I never considered the chance that they would bring it to the iPhone, but I was wrong, this week the iPad version has been updated with iPhone support.

One Hour One Life

The goal of One Hour One Life is to craft and build a civilization. To do this you need many players to work together. This is typically hard to do because not only do you need people to pay to download the game, but you also need a specific type of player who is interested in crafting. Perhaps One Hour One Life might fare a little better as a freemium title with IAPs, but I digress.
