Another day brings another image drop from sources in the Far East. The supply chain has been leaking parts photos for some time now, most recently focused on the iPhone 7 headphone jack. Two more images from separate sources seem to confirm that larger cameras are on the way in the next generation iPhone.
New leaks of alleged iPhone 7 components reveal a variety of updates coming to the next generation handset. A collection of images have been leaked from repair company Rock Fix, including components that point to dual-SIM card support. The capability to install two separate SIM cards is a popular feature in some Asian markets.
An IHS Technology analyst (via 9to5Mac) claims Apple will not release a 16GB model iPhone 7 in the fall. Instead the iPhone maker will release a 32GB version of the flagship device as the $199 base model. If true, the next-generation iPhone models will most likely be available in 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage capacities. The analyst also noted the iPhone 7 will ship with 2GB of RAM, but did not mention if he was referring to the 4.7 inch model. Previous rumors have suggested that the iPhone 7 Plus will include 3GB of RAM to power its rumored dual-camera system.
The iPhone 7 leaks are coming at a fast pace, starting with this weekend where alleged iPhone 7 images were posted on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. The images revealed that the next-generation iPhone will continue to feature a protruding camera and it will also include redesigned antenna lines. The Weibo leak was followed with more sketchy images of an alleged iPhone 7 rear case, posted to the French blog, Nowhereelse.fr. This leak confirmed another rumor that the iPhone 7 would ship with four speakers, just like Apple's current iPad Pro lineup.
Rumors for the iPhone 7 have been all over the place since the release of the iPhone SE. There has been speculation that the next-generation iPhone would ship without a headphone jack, include a Smart Connector and be Apple's first fully waterproof device. On Sunday, Editor of the French blog Nowhereelse.fr, Steve Hemmerstoffer released several images of an alleged rear case of an iPhone 7 prototype that threw more fuel on the rumor fire. The images were taken from a promotional video created by an Italian case maker who claims he received the rear shell in anticipation of the upcoming iPhone refresh.
