XCOM: Enemy Unknown

The jokes about the Robertson family releasing a Duck Dynasty tower defense game for iOS devices write themselves, but what's really weird is that the game, which has been available for a couple of days now, only has one review on the App Store. This is kind of shocking for a popular television show that's been surrounded in so much controversy lately. If you like religious bigots and tower defense games then you may want to check it out. Duck Commander: Duck Defense is now available on the App Store for for $1.99.

Ironhide Game Studio announced this week that Kingdom Rush Origins will be released to mobile devices on November 20, 2014, and SEGA is releasing the real-time strategy game Chain Chronicle worldwide on December 8th. XCOM: Enemy Unknown made waves in the gaming community when it was released to the App Store for $20. The hefty price tag made it one of the more expensive games available for iOS devices, but it is now priced at a more sensible $10. The game has also received a few improvements including multiplayer mode, multiplayer leaderboards and iOS 7 optimization.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a port of the popular PC game that was developed by Firaxis Games in 2012. It was called the Game of the Year by gaming websites GameTrailers.com, Kotaku, GameSpy and Giant Bomb. XCOM is turn-based action-strategy game that takes place on Earth during an alien invasion.

2K Games's popular turn-based strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown is now available for the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. The remake of 1994 PC game UFO: Enemy Unknown is one of the most expensive iOS games at $20. Early reviews of the iOS port have been positive, even though there has been some backlash from fans over its price tag.

The developers warn that XCOM is a "graphically rich game with advanced features that is best experienced on the iPad 4 and up". The game is a hefty 1.86GB, so make sure you have plenty of space on your device before you download it. It's also only compatible with newer iOS devices such as the the iPhone 4 and up, and fifth-generation iPod touch.
