Microsoft Silverlight Coming to iPhone

Microsoft is adding iPhone compatibility to Silverlight and has already demonstrated the technology. No modifications to Safari are necessary, as the software will send video in an iPhone-compatible H.264 stream just like YouTube and other streaming sites do currently.

Content providers will have the option of making their Silverlight streaming video iPhone-compatible now that Microsoft has added the feature on the server side.

Silverlight was released in April of 2007. The product is often compared to Adobe Flash, as it allows the same content to be viewed over the web regardless of browser, operating system or platform.

Apple has not allowed Adobe Flash to run on the iPhone. Reports have indicated Apple is concerned about the performance of Flash on the iPhone and heavy demand on the internal battery.

Netflix is one company that uses Silverlight to stream on-demand movies to subscribers via their broadband connection.

It is particularly ideal for children who love their favorite cartoon classics, or cinema releases from
the likes of Disney. The entire story is about who the team members are, what's the
lay of thhe 'land', and the stats on the visiting team (data on the alien monsters)followed by a play-by-play that becomes a concoction of fight-scene-choreography, CGI,
stunts,Transformer-like transformations in slow motion, beams, blasts,
auras, colors, and weird sounds. Some people do haave other
vision abnormalities that prevent them from seeing the 3D in the new type of
crossed-polaroid lenses; that doesn't prevent colour bllind people from seeing the 3D, though.
