iPhone 5S Videos Detail Graphite and Gold Colors

Less than two weeks separates Apple fans from the next generation iPhone event. No surprise that parts leaks are increasing in frequency. In particular, there are new videos and photos of the graphite iPhone 5S, expected to launch alongside the gold flagship smartphone. The latest videos show both back panels in great detail, comparing the new colors to the iPhone 5 in existing colors silver and slate.

Somehow Apple has managed to tweak the exterior colors of the iPhone 5S while retaining the classy, refined look of the device. It's not clear whether or not Apple will launch the iPhone 5S in four different colors, or if gold and graphite will replace silver and slate entirely this fall. In any case, all of the leaked parts clearly show a pill-shaped slot for a brighter, more sophisticated dual-LED flash.

Bang With Friends Returns to App Store as 'Down'

The controversial app Bang With Friends has returned to Apple's App Store under the new name Down. The app, which encouraged Facebook friends to hookup anonymously, was removed by Apple in May due to its questionable content. The new app created by "BANG WITH FRIENDS, INC.", features new "Up to Hang" and "I'm Down" options, instead of the less subtle "Down to Bang" button it featured before.

The creators of the Bang With Friends app were also sued by developer Zynga in July for using the phrase "with friends". Zynga claimed the Bang With Friends creators selected the name of their app with the trademarked games Words With Friends and Chess With Friends fully in mind. The Words With Friends maker asked the court to stop the owners of Bang With Friends from using the term, and that they pay unspecified damages. It doesn't look like the lawsuit worked since Android users can still download the original and uncensored version from the Google Play Store.

Apple Preparing Staff for iOS 7 Confusion

It is hard to believe but not everyone obsesses over their smartphone, and a lot of people probably don't realize how much iOS 7 is going to change the look of their Apple devices. This leaves no doubt that iOS 7 is going to confuse and anger many users once it becomes public in September, but Apple is making sure that its technical staff is ready to handle the backlash.

iOS 7

Apple is requiring that its AppleCare staff complete iOS 7 training by the "second week of September," according to 9to5Mac. Apple is also asking part-time employees to become full-time members in anticipation of a busy September launch. Requiring that its staff be prepared for a new product is nothing new, but Apple employees may be fielding a lot more calls than usual when it comes to iOS 7.

Dead Defense Now Available for the iPhone and iPad [Free iPhone Games]

Dead Defense is now available for all current iOS devices. It is a typical Tower Defense game where you must use a variety of towers and special abilities to defeat waves of various monsters and bosses. The controls are very simple, but the game play can be kind of difficult. The game does not allot you enough time between waves to set up your towers, and too many different types of monsters come at you from a variety of different directions. It also takes a few seconds for each tower to be built or upgraded, making it hard to adjust on the fly and learn the layout of each level. The restart button will be your best friend in this game.

Dead Defense

Make sure to pay close attention to the tutorial and learn about each individual tower's abilities before you start the game. There is no encyclopedia or in-game information to help you along the way. Tapping a tower's icon during the game does not bring up its individual stats, and tapping a power up icon will only bring you to an in-app purchase screen if you do not have enough crystals to use it. Not having enough time to plan your defense, and not having easy access to a individual tower's information can make Dead Defense seriously frustrating.

UPDATE: You can see the specs for all the towers under the "Research" section.
