Apple Announces WWDC 2013

Apple announced today that the Worldwide Developers Conference will be held June 10 through June 14 in San Francisco. Tickets for the annual five-day conference will cost $1,599, and go on sale April 25 at 10 a.m. PT. Developers who can't afford or make it to WWDC will be able to watch videos of the event during the conference.

WWDC 2013

Last year's WWDC sold out in less than two hours, and event videos were only made available weeks after the conference had ended. Apple announced the decision to post the videos during the event on the WWDC general info page.

"Can’t make it to WWDC? We'll be posting videos of all our sessions during the conference, so Registered Apple Developers can take advantage of great WWDC content."

Apple Store iOS App Gets Enhancements in Update

Apple has launched an update to its official Apple Store application for mobile shopping on iOS devices. Besides being able to research and purchase all of your favorite Apple products, the app now provides notifications that will let you know when you're eligible for an iPhone upgrade at the subsidized price. When you're ready to order your new phone, simply use the app to have it delivered to your doorstep.

Other notifications have also been added, providing shipping information for orders and letting you know when your purchases have been delivered. As always, the Apple Store app makes it possible to order items and pick them up later at the nearest retail location.

Fruit Ninja Creator Launches Fish Out of Water for the iPhone and iPad

Halfbrick Studios, the developers behind Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, have released a new game titled Fish Out of Water! for iOS devices. Not to be confused with JMT Apps' tower defense game with the same name, Fish Out of Water! is being billed as “an adventure across the sun, sand and surf." The object of the game is to get your fish to stay above water as long as possible by throwing him into the sky. Players get three throws to impress the Crab Crew, who will score their overall performance.

Users can compete in daily league score competitions, and unlock various charms that can be used to gain super fish powers. Players also have to deal with the elements which change daily and include tsunamis, icebergs and immense jellyfish swarms. Fish Out of Water! is now available through the App Store for $0.99.

Gold and Gray iPhone 5S nanoSIM Trays Leaked [Rumor]

Next-generation iPhone rumors have been scarce and underwhelming this year. The possibility that Apple will release an all-plastic budget iPhone is not really interesting to those who already own an iDevice, and rumors about fingerprint technology isn't really turning many heads. The latest leak, two purported "iPhone 5S" nanoSIM trays posted by Cult of Mac, is not helping create any iPhone mania either.

iPhone 5S Rumors

It is hard to believe Apple would release gold and gray iPhone models. However, Cult of Mac points out that the iPhone 5 nanoSIM trays are silver and black to match the device's color. A gold iPhone would be pretty tacky, and no one is clamoring for a gray smartphone. There has been mention that Apple will offer the next-generation iPhone in an array of different colors like the iPod, but I don't think gold and gray is what people had in mind.
