BrowserChooser Updated with iOS 7 Support

Ryan Petrich's jailbreak tweak BrowserChooser has been updated to support iOS 7. The tweak allows users to make Google Chrome, Opera Mini, iCab Mobile, Dolphin Browser or Atomic Browser their default browser instead of Safari. This tweak is even better when paired with the jailbreak tweak Nitrous.

Third-party browsers are not as fast as Safari because Apple restricts access to the Nitro JavaScript engine in iOS. Nitrous unlocks the faster JIT compiler making other applications like Chrome, Facebook and Twitter 4-to-5x faster.

iOS 7.1 Beta 4 Release Notes

Apple has released iOS 7.1 beta 4 to developers this morning. The update is available OTA or via Apple's developer page. The update carries the build number 11D5134c. The fourth beta was released only a few weeks after iOS 7.1 beta 3 became available.

So far not many big changes have been reported. iDownloadblog has spotted a new slide to unlock animation, and new Siri voice options in the UK. There is also a bug fix for Messages that caused a send failure immediately after sending. Check out the complete iOS 7.1 beta 4 release notes below.

iPhone Debuts for China Mobile and more Apple News Jan. 12th - 18th

The biggest news for Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and its shareholders last week was the debut of the iPhone in China. On Friday, China Mobile, the world's largest carrier with over 750 million subscribers, began selling the iPhone 5c and 5s. Pre-orders for the devices began in December and reached 1 million. Analysts expect China Mobile to sell anywhere from 10 million to 15 million iPhones this year. You can read more about this here.

Apple's market share grows

The 2013 Q4 numbers also came in last week and, according to market research company NPD Group, Apple saw significant gains. Apple's market share grew from 35% in Q4 2012 to 42% in Q4 2013. Apple to Begin in-store iPhone 5c Screen Replacements

Starting on Monday, January 20, Apple will be replacing damaged iPhone 5c screens in their stores. This is good news for any 5c owner who, after a bad drop, has had that sinking feeling confirmed when they turned it over to find a spiderweb of broken glass.
