Apple stock (NASDAQ:AAPL) continued its slide downward last week, closing on Friday at $96.96. This stretch marked the first time since October 2014 that AAPL has closed below $100. Reports of planned cuts in iPhone 6s production contributed to the drop in price, as the iPhone comprises 66% of net sales. The economic downturn in China hasn't helped the situation, with stocks across the board losing value.

Happy New Year and welcome back to our App Recap. This is not only the first App Recap of 2016, but it is also the first full week of new App Store submissions since the winter holiday shutdown, which ended on December 29. Apple this week announced record App Store sales for a two week period ending on Janaury 3. Nickelodeon released a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game after Michael Bay confirmed Kraang will be making an appearance in the upcoming live action movie being released later this year. TMNT - Portal Power for iOS is based on the Nick cartoon starring everyone's favorite turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo, and Donatello. The game features the same voice cast and animation as the hit television series, and 5 different worlds and dimensions for players to conquer.

Hi-Rez Studios, the creators of SMITE, has released their first mobile title for iOS. Jetpack Fighter is a side-scrolling, action game with swipe-to-attack controls. In the game players must "dash" through various enemies and hazards to rid a futuristic world of evil robots and killer bosses.
The game promises to deliver "deep and rewarding gameplay" with plenty of characters and weapons to unlock. As a launch bonus, SMITE users can unlock the goddess Nemesis by syncing their Jetpack account with their Hi-Rez account. Players can also replay missions to collect additional loot and compete in PvP time trials.
