Apple's AirTag has become a common go-to for item tracking, and with the release of iOS 17 users can start sharing their AirTags with family and friends. Prior to this update, AirTags could only be used with a single Apple ID, which prevented sharing their location. With iOS 17 or later installed on iPhone, an AirTag can easily be shared to track items with Find My.
AirTags have limited functionality on Android devices. For full use of all AirTag features, they require access to the Apple Find My network and the U1 chip for Ultra Wideband.

This means the same AirTag cannot be shared by two or more people's devices. Because the AirTag can only be paired with a single Apple ID, it can only be tracked by devices which are signed in with the same Apple ID.
