Iron Man 3: The Official Game Now Available for the iPhone and iPad

The official Iron Man 3 game for iOS devices is now available for the iPhone and iPad. Unfortunately the game is an endless runner, but it does feature some pretty amazing graphics (check out the trailer below) and notable Iron Man villains like Crimson Dynamo, Living Laser, and M.O.D.O.K.. You can also research and develop up to 18 Iron Man suits, and upgrade your armors and powers in the Stark Industries research lab... Plus it's free!

The game has been released about two-weeks before Iron Man 3 the movie hits theaters on May 3, 2013. The film follows Tony Stark and James Rhodes as they battle a terrorist called the Mandarin. Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), and stars Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kingsley and Don Cheadle.

Fruit Ninja Creator Launches Fish Out of Water for the iPhone and iPad

Halfbrick Studios, the developers behind Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, have released a new game titled Fish Out of Water! for iOS devices. Not to be confused with JMT Apps' tower defense game with the same name, Fish Out of Water! is being billed as “an adventure across the sun, sand and surf." The object of the game is to get your fish to stay above water as long as possible by throwing him into the sky. Players get three throws to impress the Crab Crew, who will score their overall performance.

Users can compete in daily league score competitions, and unlock various charms that can be used to gain super fish powers. Players also have to deal with the elements which change daily and include tsunamis, icebergs and immense jellyfish swarms. Fish Out of Water! is now available through the App Store for $0.99.

Final Fantasy V Now Available for iPhone and iPad

Final Fantasy V is now available for the iPhone and iPad. The iOS version of the popular RPG game features all the original characters, plus the extra dungeon and job classes from the 2006 Game Boy Advance version. The game has also received a slight makeover featuring enhanced characters designs and graphics from Kazuko Shibuya. Other features include: The Tetsuya Nomura-designed optional boss Enuo, Game Center support, and achievements.

FFV was originally released in Japan on Nintendo's Super Famicom twenty years ago. Two slightly different versions of the game were ported to Sony's PlayStation and Nintendo's Game Boy Advance after its original release. The story follows four strangers who must band together to stop an evil sorcerer named Exdeath.

Sonic Dash Now Available for the iPhone and iPad

SEGA has released another Sonic the Hedgehog game for iOS devices while Mario fans are stuck with cheap ripoffs (see below), or no games at all. Sonic Dash for the iPod, iPhone and iPad was released to the App Store earlier this week. The game is an platform jumper (think Temple Run) featuring Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

In Sonic Dash users can complete 48 different levels to stop the evil Dr. Eggman in Story Mode, or they can choose to go the endless runner route in Arcade Mode. There is also a Challenge Friends mode where players can compete head-to-head for the highest score. The game includes plenty of power ups, boss battles and the promise of "future free updates".

Puppetz and Undead Slayer Now Free for the iPhone and iPad [Free iPhone Games]

Two iOS games more suited for October than January have popped up for free in the App Store. Puppetz is a platform and dual-stick shooter game where players control and fight various evil puppets. The game offers 21 unique playable characters, and loads of missions, unlockable weapons and achievements.

Free iPhone Games

I gave the game a quick whirl and I wasn't terribly impressed. However, I'm not a big fan of side-scrolling shooting games on the iPhone, and I honestly didn't give it much of a chance. Fans of creepy and cartoonish platform games may enjoy it more than I did. The game is 100% free with no ads or in-app purchases. Puppetz is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
