Ever notice that Hey Siri does not respond when the iPhone is face-down on a table? In fact, this can happen in a pocket, bag, or any situation where the front of the iPhone is covered up. This is a feature of iOS, which shuts off Hey Siri automatically when the iPhone is face-down. Placing the device in this position is the quickest way to disable Hey Siri at any time.

Hidden among the many changes and improvements to iOS 13 is a feature Apple calls Optimize Battery Charging. All rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan, which means over time their capacity to hold power declines. Apple has added automatic charging optimization to the Battery Health feature of iOS. From the time your iPhone is updated to iOS 13, this feature is switched on by default.

Looking for that fresh, new home screen look? The iPhone, iPad and iPod touch can easily restore default settings without wiping your photos, music and other data. In addition to the Home Screen icon layout, stored location data, Wi-Fi networks and more can be reset to a blank slate.

iOS configuration files can be used for a variety of purposes, such as participating in the Apple Beta Software Program, making seamless Wi-Fi connections or changing settings. These files can be removed once they are no longer useful. Of course, if you're using a work iPhone the organization managing your iPhone may prevent the removal of iOS configuration files.

Back in the days of the original iPhone, Apple printed each device's serial number right on the back of the iPhone. This is no longer the case, but every once in a while iPhone owners still need their serial number. Checking for warranty coverage or scheduling a repair typically requires entering this information, as each iPhone has its own unique number.
