Add the Camera Shortcut to Your Lock Screen Without Upgrading to iOS 5.1 [iPhone Tweaks]

Jailbreakers who feel like they're missing out on the new iOS 5.1 camera icon can now add their own with a new jailbreak tweak. Camera Grabber for iOS 5 adds the camera shortcut to your iPhone's Lock Screen without having to upgrade to iOS 5.1. This eliminates the need to double tap the Home button to quickly access your camera.

If you do not want the new icon but would like an easier way to access your camera, you can always install the free tweak known as CamFast. This tweak allows you to use Activator actions like "Double Tap" to achieve the same result as using the camera shortcut.

Never Miss an Update With App Update Notifier

The new jailbreak tweak AppUpdateNotifier ensures you will never miss another app update by sending you a notification when one is available. This seems like a decent tweak for people who use a lot of apps and are tired of missing updates.

The tweak sends notifications via Apple's built in notifications system even when your device is locked or asleep. You can set AppUpdateNotifier to check for updates hourly, daily, weekly or monthly, and you can even choose to ignore certain apps by placing them on the "Ignore List."

Get the Latest NBA, NHL and MLB Scores From Siri

If you're not a fan of official sports apps like me, then the new AssistantExtensions addon called SiriSports might be what you're looking for. The jailbreak tweak enables Siri to deliver sports scores and schedules for the NBA, NHL and MLB.

Siri Tweaks

SiriSports is located for free in the BigBoss repo. Once installed and enabled in Settings, you can ask Siri things like: "What's the score of the Knicks game" or "Did the 76ers win last night?" Siri will then give you the latest or final scores of the game you're looking for, instead of suggesting a web search.

New iPhone Tweak Makes Using Multiple AppStore Accounts Easier

The new jailbreak tweak AccountChanger helps you keep track of your multiple AppStore accounts by adding an "Accounts" button to the Update section of the AppStore. The latest version is beta so some bugs are being worked out. However, if you use more than one account this tweak could be helpful, and may be worth a look.

You can give the tweak a whirl by downloading it for free from the BigBoss repo in Cydia. AccountChanger requires iOS 5 or higher.

iOS 4.3.4 Already Jailbroken

On Friday, Apple launched iOS 4.3.4 to patch a vulnerability that allowed hackers to remotely take over iOS devices. Unfortunately, this security risk was also the same PDF exploit used by Comex to release JailbreakMe 3.0 a little over a week ago. Not a big deal if you stuck with iOS 4.3.3, but for those of you who didn't get the memo, there is a savior in the form of a tethered jailbreak. Not as good, but better than nothing.

Cydia 4.3.4

Redmond Pie released a tutorial on how to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad (sorry doesn't work for the iPad 2) and iPod touch running iOS 4.3.4.
