iPhone 14 to feature 'hole-punch and pill' design

Apple looks poised to place the letter "i" on the front of the next generation iPhone, if reports are true. The iPhone 14 may shed its famous notch at the top of the screen for a different configuration of sensor cutouts. The so-called "hole-punch and pill" design has been leaked through purported schematics (above) and a photo of a screen component from behind. Rumors indicate Apple is moving away from a full notch design but still needs to accommodate a long list of sensors in front of the iPhone 14.

The Oculus Quest 2 (pictured above) may have some serious competition from Apple starting next year. Apple plans to launch a combined augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) stand-alone headset. The company is likely to reveal the new hardware at WWDC over the summer, giving developers time to create apps. Apple is expected to produce a lightweight, sleek design with swappable headbands.

Exciting changes are in store for upcoming iPhone models. If the latest leaks are to be believed, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has bold predictions for the future of Face ID. Changes start with the iPhone lineup this fall, which noticeably shrinks the width of the display notch. The black display notch houses necessary components for Face ID, including the TrueDepth camera.
