Apple plans to launch an update to the Apple TV at its September iPhone event. According to Bloomberg, the new set-top box will support 4K HDR content thanks to an upgraded processor. More powerful hardware is only part of the equation, however with Apple taking on a "renewed focus on the living room".

Owners of the latest Apple TV can now enjoy video and live streaming content directly on the Facebook Video app. Facebook fans interested in watching videos on their Apple TV previously had to use AirPlay from an iOS device. The Facebook Video app for tvOS simplifies this process, and the company plans to bring similar apps to competing platforms including Amazon Fire TV.

The popular social media app that lets users upload 6 second video snippets will be discontinued in the near future. After acquiring Vine in 2012 for a rumored $30 million, Twitter announced on Thursday that it will be shutting the app down. There are likely numerous reasons for Vine's demise, including increased competition, Twitter's focus on Periscope, and the app's lack of profitability. Whatever the case, there are a lot of hilarious Vines out there that could potentially disappear forever.
