View Full Track Titles in the iPhone Music App

Ever notice how some song titles are too long to fit on an iPhone or iPod touch display? The iOS Music app simply truncates the text and adds a trailing elipsis at the end. Now thanks to iOS 5 you can actually view all of the track information with this simple tip.

When you're interested in seeing the whole track name, just hold down on the track listing and a black pop-up box will appear. Inside this box will be the complete track title without any abbreviation. Once you lift your finger, the box will remain open until you tap the screen again.

MobileTerminal Now Available in Cydia

Yay! No more annoying process to add MobileTerminal to your iPhone. An iOS 5-compatible version of the popular terminal tool has been added to Cydia. MobileTerminal is an iPhone version of the Mac OS Terminal utility that allows you to change your root password, or SSH your device. Installing MobileTerminal to your iPhone originally required a long process, but now it is one easy tap away.

MobileTerminal makes it possible to run utilities such as OpenSSH right from your iPhone, and it allows you to run system administration tasks from anywhere. It's a great and necessary tool for jailbroken iPhones.

Virgin Mobile USA to Offer Pre-Paid iPhone Next Month

Sprint is looking to sell as many iPhones as possible thanks to its deal with Apple. Now the company is moving to offer a pre-paid iPhone to customers through its Virgin Mobile brand in the US. The iPhone will be available on the carrier starting on July 1.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of news that carriers Boost Mobile and Cricket Wireless will offer pre-paid iPhones starting this summer. Cricket will be the first carrier to sell a pre-paid iPhone with no contract in the US. The company plans to begin offering the device along with a $150 subsidy on June 22.

Broadcom Bringing Wireless File Sharing to iPhone 5

Ever hear of AirDrop? Those who are used to file sharing with their newer Mac computer will find the term familiar. Now it seems Apple is prepared to equip its next generation iPhone with the technology. According to 9to5Mac, the OS X Lion adhoc file-sharing protocol is likely to be added to iOS 6.

BCM4334 iPhone

This is all thanks to the Broadcom BCM4334 hardware that has been found in iOS 6 code. This chip uses a more efficient 40nm process, which is a step above the 65nm process found on chips in the iPhone 4S and iPad 3. When it comes to power, the new Wi-Fi chip reduces consumption by almost half, and increases standby time by three orders of magnitude.

Jailbreak Tools Updated for iOS 5.1.1 by iPhone Dev-Team

Good news for those who may have been running into issues trying to jailbreak an iOS device with Absinthe 2.0. The iPhone Dev-Team has officially updated all of their jailbreak tools with the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak. The official announcement details all of the specifics, but the main tools highlighted are PwnageTool 5.1.1 and redsn0w 0.9.12b1.

Other tools that are now updated include cinject 0.5.4 (still rocky-racoon but with added updates) and ultrasn0w 1.2.7 (this includes no new baseband support, but it does make ultrasn0w iOS 5.1.1 compatible). Dev-Team states that if you've already installed rocky-racoon, there's no reason to reinstall unless you're having problems.
