New iOS Apps, Games and JB Tweaks of the Week: E3 2015 and more

Freak Circus Racing

There were a lot of big announcements at E3 2015 this year, especially when it comes to console gaming. Some of the biggest announcements included Fallout 4, Kingdom Hearts 3, a bunch of new Nintendo titles like Star Fox Zero and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, and much, much more.

On the mobile side of things Square-Enix unveiled Hitman: Sniper and announced that Kingdom Hearts Unchained Key will be coming to the U.S. App Store. Capcom quietly announced that an iOS version of the PSP title Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is coming "soon," but didn't reveal many details about the port except that it would include new features. Other mobile previewed at E3 include: World of Tanks Blitz, The Witcher Adventure Game, Godfire: Rise of Prometheus, Minions Paradise and Siegefall. You can check out some E3 trailers and gameplay videos at the bottom of this post.

iOS App of the Week: Fallout Shelter

Fallout Shelter

We briefly touched on Bethesda's Fallout Shelter during the Fallout 4 frenzy at E3, but it deserves a much closer look than we orginally gave it. I'm not sure why Bethesda teamed up with Behaviour Interactive to release a mobile game based on the popular post-apocalyptic franchise. Is it just a gift to hold fans over until November 10, when Fallout 4 hits shelves? Maybe it's an introduction to the Fallout franchise for new fans? Whatever Bethesda's end game is, Fallout Shelter is a resource management title that is both fun for new and old fans.

Additionally, a new Low Power setting will supposedly extend battery life by up to three hours.

According to Apple's iOS 9 page:

Disney has released another Star Wars mobile game for iOS devices. Star Wars - Heroes Path is a stealth/puzzle title that is being compared to Hitman Go. The game takes place during A New Hope and allows players to play as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The basic idea of the game is to sneak your character past Stormtroopers without being seen.

Lara Croft Go

Square Enix today announced three new mobile titles at its E3 2015 press conference: Kingdom Hearts Unchained Key, Lara Croft Go and Final Fantasy VII. Here's what we know about all three games:

Kingdom Hearts Unchained Key, which was originally announced for Japan, will also be released in the US for both iOS and Android. This is the first Kingdom Hearts game specifically designed for mobile devices, but it's story will link to Kingdom Hearts 3. The game will include numerous Disney characters and feature a 2D art style. Kingdom Hearts Unchained Key will launch in Japan in 2015. No North American release date has been announced.
