As you're already likely very aware, countless iPhone owners overslept the first two days of 2011 because of a bug in the iPhone's software that prevented alarms scheduled to go off on January 1 or January 2 from doing so. Apple acknowledged the bug publically, and indicated that not only was a fix in the works -- but that iPhone owners could expect their alarms to begin working on January 3 without needing to do anything. The only problem? For many of you, January 3 rolled around, and your alarm failed to go off yet again. The good news? There appears to be a simple fix.

Every day seems to bring another reveal in the ongoing wait for a Verizon Wireless iPhone launch. This weekend is no different, with online catalog screen shots from offwire.com leaked in news reports showing Verizon Wireless iPhone 4 cases manufactured by Case-Mate.

It's not clear whether or not there are any changes in case design required for the Verizon iPhone 4 model. The entries have since been pulled off of the web. Text anticipating the Verizon launch was also discovered on a Case-Mate landing page:

Skype has released version 3.0 of its iOS application with full support for 3G video calling to other Skype members. This app will give FaceTime a run for its money, as Apple's video conferencing solution is currently limited to Wi-Fi only.

The Skype app of course supports audio calling for iPhones lacking a front facing camera and Skype text chat. Skype 3.0 is available now on iTunes for free and works on iPhones running iOS version 3.0 and later.

Those of you who were disappointed after hearing that Verizon Wireless would feature Android devices at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) need only wait a little longer. Apple is likely to make the announcement of a new iPhone designed for Verizon's network and the end of AT&T exclusivity before Valentine's Day.

In a report detailing possible defections of iPhone subscribers, Business Week cites sources who claim an announcement will follow CES. This event takes place in Las Vegas from January 6-9, 2011.
