Memoji on the iPhone and iPad continue to gain new options for personalization. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, Apple has added face coverings to the mix with iOS 14. Now your Memoji can sport a unique face mask to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Once a face covering is added, all of the Memoji expressions are masked automatically.

In the first major UI update since folders were introduced, iOS 14 lets you personalize your Home Screen with widgets of varying size. Obviously you can't fit every widget on your Home Screen so you have the option of adding a "Smart Stack," which is group of widgets that you can scroll through, stacked into one widget sized area. While you can remove widgets from the Smart Stack, you can't add any as it currently stands, though hopefully this will be fixed by the the time of the official release.

One of the most simple and useful apps on iPhone keeps getting better. Apple's Voice Memos has gained an audio enhancement feature with the launch of iOS 14. Much like the magic wand in Photos, with one tap the iPhone utilizes on-device processing to improve the quality of existing recordings. Enhance Recording will analyze the audio to reduce background noise and highlight important sounds, such as voices. If the results aren't to your liking, it takes one tap to undo the changes.

Apple has added several new face coverings, hair and headwear styles to Memojis in iOS 14. The new features are to help iPhone and iPad users to reflect a variety of different religions, hobby, profession, and personalities. Back Tap makes it possible to perform a variety of system actions by tapping the back of the iPhone case. Actions can be assigned to a double-tap or triple-tap, meaning that up to two actions can be configured at a time. For example, double-tapping the back of your iPhone can scroll, capture a screenshot, change the volume, or even launch a Shortcut. Back Tap also provides options to launch various Accessibility features.
