NES iPhone Controller Concept Needs Help to be a Reality

U.K. designer Fabio Basile has come up with an awesome concept for iOS gamers and Nintendo fans. The iOS NES game controller comes in two parts, one which connects to the 30-pin dock of your iPhone and the other which fits into the headphone jack.

While the concept is great and will probably sell well, Basile has some hurdles to leap before he can make his controller a reality. He is having trouble starting a Kickstarter campaign because he is from the U.K., and he needs help with hardware design and iOS frameworks. Basile has asked anyone who can help to follow him on Twitter."

iPhone Battery Case and Infrared Keyboard Not as Exciting as it Sounds

CES keeps rolling out the iOS accessories. You can check here for the latest iPad products being showcased in Las Vegas this week.

We've already previewed a few mobile charging devices that made their debut at CES, but how about a battery case that projects an infrared keyboard to make texting and emailing easier on your iPhone!

Celluon's Prodigy battery case and interactive keyboard isn't the prettiest looking thing, but the concept is cool. Unfortunately, Cult of Mac says using the keyboard only results in a "frustrating" experience. This is the first negative review I've heard coming out of CES, unless you count the electronic bag of morphing colors Engadget discovered on Wednesday.

More Mobile Charging Devices Announced For the iPhone and iPad

XtremeMac announced its new line of mobile charging devices at CES on Wednesday. The 3 in 1 USB Mobile Cable features USB to microUSB, mini USB and 30pin connectivity that allows you to charge almost any mobile device.

The InCharge Boost is a portable polymer rechargeable battery with a 30pin connector to charge your iPod, iPhone or iPad. The InCharge Micro Boost is a keychain sized charger for the iPod and iPhone. Both chargers are equipped with status LED indicators and integrated carabineers for portability.

New iCade Models Enhance Gaming on iOS Devices

At last year's CES Ion Audio launched the retro iPad gaming cabinet known as the iCade. Although the product started life as an April fool's joke at ThinkGeek, the maker of the iCade is now adding even more fun gaming accessories for iOS device owners.

iPhone and iPod touch owners are no longer left out of the loop thanks to the iCade Mobile, a portable game control pad that connects directly to the iOS device. The mobile version will connect via Bluetooth, adding a D-pad and buttons to the iPhone for $80.

60beat's GamePad Controller Turns Your iPhone and iPad Into a Gaming Console

The iOS accessory company 60beat has released a new gaming controller for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The $50 GamePad allows you to use a physical controller instead of the annoying onscreen controls of iOS games. Unfortunately it only works with two titles (Bugdom 2 and Aftermath) right now, but I assume there will be more GamePad compatible games in the future.

The GamePad is a great accessory if you enjoy playing games on your iPad at home, but I doubt anyone is going to want to lug this thing around. It resembles a PS3 controller with dual analog joysticks and 8 action buttons. There is no Bluetooth wireless option. The GamePad connects to your headphone jack with a 4 foot long cable. That's a lot to take on the bus, but maybe not such a bad idea for kids on long car rides. Especially since it doesn't require any batteries.
