A look at Apple’s 2017 iPad lineup

2017 iPad Lineup

Unlike the iPhone which is primarily released in the fall, Apple’s launch schedule for the iPad has been all over the map the last couple of years. Instead of releasing a new iPad once a year like in the past, Apple has staggered its launch schedule due to slumping sales. In 2017 the company released a new entry-level 9.7-inch model in March, and on Monday it launched its newest iPad Pro models. Here is what the current iPad lineup looks like for 2017.

What to expect from Apple's rumored iPad refresh in March

2016 iPad Lineup

Apple hasn't released a new iPad model since March 2016 when it launched the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. This means it's time for a refresh, and the company is expected to deliver big next month during its first major keynote of 2017. Unlike previous Apple product launches, details about the next-generation iPad models have been sketchy at best. While most reports about Apple's alleged plans have been similar, a few have conflicted with each other making things even more confusing. Here's what Apple is expected to announce in March, according to all the recent rumors.

iTweakiOS Releases AT&T Carrier Hack for iPhone and iPad

iTweakiOS has launched an AT&T carrier hack, which promises to deliver increased data speeds just like the previously released T-Mobile hack. Joe Brown and Sky Zangas, the developer team behind iTweakiOS, claim the new AT&T hack improves data performance on both LTE and HSPA+.

iTweakiOS

“Just like with the T-Mobile hack, this hack does the same. Band preferences were set to limit you to a certain band rather than the band giving off the strongest signal, when available, both with LTE and HSPA+.”

“This hack enables Release 9 DC-HSPA+ on the iPhone 5 and iPad 3, 4, and mini as well as enhancing LTE data and signal. Though AT&T is limited to HSPA+ 21, the device itself becomes more open to an increased amount of bandwidth thus allowing for better throughput of data and data connection. This is very convinient [sic] for users in areas that don’t yet have LTE coverage.”

Facebook iPhone App Gets a Much Needed Speed Boost

Version 5.0 of the iPhone and iPad Facebook app has finally landed in the app store! Facebook has rebuilt the app from the ground up making it much faster. The app now launches immediately and the news feed and photos load a lot more quickly.

The new app allows you to easily scroll through your news feed without having to refresh, and now features notification banners for recent posts. The app doesn't look any different, but you will immediately feel the changes the first time you use it. Facebook did not add the must asked for "Share" button featured on the web version.
