AAPL Stock Weekly Outlook: Prices flat as Q4 Mac sales improve

After a slide last week, AAPL (NASDAQ:AAPL) stock opened Monday at $98.39 and pushed to a high on Wednesday of $101.13 before losing traction. Friday saw the week's lowest price at $95.53, with the stock rebounding later in the day to close at $97.08. Apple's stock price was essentially flat this week, losing $1.31 (-1.33%) over the five-day period.

One of the key new features previewed in last week's iOS 9.3 beta is Night Shift. The basic premise is that blocking blue wavelengths of light after the sun has set improves sleep. This blue light is normally generated by iPhone, iPad and other mobile device screens, simulating sunlight. By reading iBooks in the evening or playing video games late into the night, circadian rhythms are disrupted. Night Shift addresses this problem, however it's by no means the first software to tackle the issue.

Gotta catch 'em all. Mortys that is. Adult Swim's new RPG Pocket Mortys has topped the Apple App Store charts, and rightfully so. It is a addicting and clever Pokémon parody based on the hit cartoon Rick and Morty (Read our review). It is also one of the best games released so far in 2016. The goal of the game is to catch as many Mortys as possible while exploring the multiverse. We have also created a Pocket Mortys section in our FAQ. It includes a full crafting recipe guide, tips for playing the game, lists of charcaters and so on.

Pocket Mortys is available for free on the App Store. It requires iOS 8.0 and later and it supports older devices like the iPhone 4s.

Apple: Free iTunes Radio stations going off air

Big changes are coming to streaming music at Apple this month. As of January 28, the only free streaming music channel available from Apple will be Beats 1. The company plans to remove ad-supported iTunes Radio channels, bringing them into the Apple Music fold instead. In two weeks, the free channels will only be available with an Apple Music subscription.
