Apple Watch Nike+ to begin shipping on October 28

Apple has updated its website with an October 28th release date for the Apple Watch Nike+. Apple originally unveiled the Series 2 Watch at its iPhone 7 keynote back in September. It was revealed that the Watch would be available in four colors for $369, but a release date was never mentioned. There are two versions of the Watch with four different Nike Sport Band options. The different models include a Space Gray case with Volt (lime) or Cool Gray band and a Silver Aluminum case with Volt or White band. Each Watch is also available as a 38mm or 42mm version.

Two major horror/action franchises are set to return in 2017. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter lands in theaters on January 27th, and Kate Beckinsale is set to reprise her role as Selene in the werewolf vs. vampire flick, Underworld: Blood Wars, on January 6th. Samsung confirms Galaxy Note 7 officially discontinued

Samsung has confirmed that the troublesome Galaxy Note 7 has been discontinued. A spokeswomen for Samsung has told both the Wall Street Journal and TechCrunch that production of the handset is being stopped due to fears of defective batteries.

"We can confirm the report that Samsung has permanently discontinued the production of Galaxy Note7," a spokeswoman told TechCrunch.

Donate to Hurricane Matthew relief efforts via iTunes

Apple has opened up a donation page via its storefronts on iTunes, the App Store and Apple.com. As the company has done in the past, 100% of donations made using its payment systems will go directly to the American Red Cross. The donations made via iTunes will help boost Hurricane Matthew relief efforts by the organization, which is helping those affected by the storm. Matthew smacked the Caribbean and several US states, leaving hundreds dead and millions without power.

Apple discontinues 3rd generation Apple TV

The other shoe has finally dropped. This week Apple officially pulled the third-generation Apple TV from its stores. Previously, the Apple Store online gave consumers an option to purchase the older model set top box for $69 and even compare them. Now the Apple TV 4G with Siri Remote is the only version available, in storage capacities of 32 GB or 64 GB priced at $149 or $199 respectively.
