The iPhone 6 and next-generation iPad will ship with a new Lightning cable that features a reversible USB, according to leaked images published by uSwitch Tech and Sonny Dickson. The first image shows alleged retail boxes for Apple's rumored revamped Lightning cable. The second image is a closer view of the reversible USB posted to Twitter by Dickson. The new USB connector would put an end to one of the most frustrating problems known to man by allowing the cable to be inserted into a USB port no matter what side is facing up.

The USB Promoter Group in December announced a fully reversible Type-C USB cable was in the works, but this cable will not support current Apple products. However, Apple has been working on its own "dual orientation USB plug connector," according to a patent filed in 2013 (via 9to5Mac). The patent says that the USB would be able to mate with "standard USB receptacle connectors, e.g., a standard Type A USB receptacle connector." This means it will support current Apple computers and accessories, unlike the Type-C USB.

It was a very slow week for the App Store again. This may be a trend until the next-generation iPhones and iPads are announced in September. However, there were a few big announcements made this week and a few games worth looking forward too. iOS users with an Australia or New Zealand App Store account can now download the Call of Duty: Heroes beta. The game is a free-to-play title that "lets you command an army of legendary heroes, elite soldiers, and an advanced arsenal of weaponry from the Call of Duty universe while building up and customizing a small outpost into an impenetrable base," according to the COD blog One of Swords.

Ironhide Games Studio announced a third Kingdom Rush game on its Facebook page. The game's tagline reads, "Every Adventure Has a Beginning". Ironhide said the game will feature "a new world, a new race, a new ancient evil" and it will be available in the fall.

Trolling is not only an art, it is also a new advertising strategy utilized by T-Mobile CEO John Legere and now Samsung. The South Korean company has taken its "Wall Huggers" campaign to select airports to troll customers who are stuck using power outlets to charge their mobile devices. Samsung has placed posters near power outlets that read:

"Samsung Galaxy S5 with Ultra Power Saving Mode. So you have the power to be anywhere but here”

The campaign is obviously aimed at the iPhone and other Apple devices. The posters have been spotted at the Newark airport in New Jersey and will be added to John F. Kennedy International in New York and to O’Hare and Midway in Chicago, according to CNET.

Activision today announced that Call of Duty: Heroes is being released exclusively to iOS devices on Thursday. The beta will soft launch in Australia and New Zealand so users can "provide feedback to improve the final game experience," according to the One of Swords blog. The game will be a free-to-play title where players can build their own impenetrable base from the ground up.

Call of Duty: Heroes will feature characters from the COD universe, like Captain Price, Soap, Harper, and more. Players will be able to buy infantry and drones to defend and attack other bases making the game a lot like Clash of Clans, but with CLAWs, and Dragonfires instead of barbarians and archers. The game will also feature multiplayer elements allowing players to team up, Killstreaks, care packages and other goodies to help you blow stuff up.

T-Mobile plans to start addressing users who are abusing their unlimited 4G/LTE data plans, according to an alleged internal memo published by TMO News. The memo sent to T-Mobile staff reads:

"T-mobile has identified customers who are heavy data users and are engaged in peer-to-peer file sharing, and tethering outside of T-Mobile’s Terms and Conditions (T&C). This results in a negative data network experience for T-Mobile customers. Beginning August 17, T-Mobile will begin to address customers who are conducting activities outside of T-Mobile’s T&Cs.”

The memo also contains a 4-step plan to handle customers who are violating T-Mobile's terms and conditions.

T-Mobile will first contact the alleged abuser to notify them that they are violating their terms and conditions. The customer's account will be tagged with a "Misuse Warning SOC" until their next billing cycle. If the abuse continues, T-Mobile will then throttle the customer's data speeds. The account will also be marked by a "Misuse Throttle SOC" so customer care and other staff will know why that customer is experiencing slower speeds.
