Ever borrowed an iPhone USB charger from a stranger? Watch out. Now a Georgia Institute of Technology research team has proven that a specially designed charger can inject malware into your iOS device effortlessly in under a minute. At least that's the result of their research to create a proof-of-concept malicious accessory, to be fully revealed at the Black Hat security conference this July.

The research abstract briefly describes "how USB capabilities can be leveraged to bypass [USB] defense mechanisms." Not only this, but the malware is disguised once installed to hide itself "in the same way Apple hides its own built-in applications." In case you were wondering, the experiment was performed with the latest and greatest version of iOS.

There's no shortage of Apple rumors circulating this year ahead of WWDC. Next week the company is not expected to announce any new hardware, but a completely redesigned iOS 7 instead. The iPhone 5S won't see the light of day until this fall. In the meantime, this hasn't stopped Nowhereelse.fr from leaking more iPhone 5S parts photos.

After all, the next generation iPhone is said to have already entered trial production. Although the device will have the same form factor as the current model, the iPhone 5S reportedly has internal improvements and will come in multiple different colors. Anyone who remembers how long the white iPhone 4 was delayed can be forgiven for being skeptical when it comes to these reports.

PopCap has finally announced the release date for the long awaited Plants vs. Zombies sequel. The game entitled Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time will be an iOS exclusive, and will hit the App Store on Thursday, July 18. PopCap, now a division of Electronic Arts Inc., previously released a teaser trailer in May, but did not give a specific release date. The developer also promised a newly designed game with new worlds, levels, plants, and zombies, but failed to mention that the game would not be available for PCs or Android devices.

PopCap also announced that the game will feature "all-new touch-screen power-ups that enable players to 'break the fourth wall' and interact with zombies directly, as well as via plant defenses".

“It’s about time!” said Allen Murray, Senior Producer for Plants vs. Zombies 2. “We’re confident that players will see the love and attention we’ve put into this game. We’ve created wild new ways to experience the plants and zombies you know and love as well as packing the game with tons of completely new content, and we’re still hard at work coming up with even more cool stuff that will keep Plants vs. Zombies 2 fresh and evolving in the months and years following launch.”

Fans of Hungry Shark Attack and other fish-eating frenzy games will enjoy Zombie Fish Tank by Chillingo Ltd.. The game features top notch graphics, a fun storyline, plenty of fun characters, boss battles and achievements; it’s pretty much everything you can ask for from a $0.99 iPhone game. I was originally worried that the tilt controls would make the gameplay annoying and difficult, but I was absolutely wrong. I was pleasantly surprised about how easy it is to navigate the crowded zombie infested aquarium by tilting my iPhone. You can even double tap the screen to calibrate the controls in case you set down your device, or change positions.

The game follows a small fish who is set on revenge after he is torn away from his girlfriend and transformed into the undead by mad scientists. Players must survive in harsh environments by eating smaller fish and toxic waste, all while avoiding being devoured by larger laboratory created monstrosities. You eventually work your way through various genetically altered bodies of water, such as the Toilet of Doom, until you reach the final stage.

The second major update for Real Racing 3 has arrived in the App Store. This time Electronic Arts has added 6 new track layouts to simulate racing at the Dubai Autodrome. The tracks can be raced during the day or at twilight for a more dramatic effect. Of course, not only are there new stretches of asphalt to explore, there are more cars to drive.

Real Racing 3 version 1.1.2 brings Lexus into the fold with two new vehicles. The Lexus IS-F and Lexus LFA are also joined by the Dodge Charger RT and the Dodge Charger SRT8. Besides new cars and tracks, EA brings over 50 new events to the table in the latest version of the iOS game.
