WSJ: iWatch and Larger iPhone Due This Fall

The Wall Street Journal is the latest outlet to throw its weight behind the latest Apple rumors claiming that the company will release both an iWatch and larger iPhone 6 this fall. The WSJ report comes two weeks after unidentified Bloomberg sources revealed that Apple was preparing to begin production on two larger iPhone models. However, the WSJ report only mentioned one iPhone model, not two.

The report also said "people familiar with the company’s plans" claim Apple is working on a watch "with advanced sensors to track a user’s fitness and health." Apple recently announced a new Health app that would collect data from third-party apps such as heart rate, calories burned an so on. It has been widely speculated that this app was created to be a companion to the rumored iWatch.

Microsoft Adds Voice Messaging Support Back to Skype iPhone App

Skype today announced that voice messaging and profiles are back in Skype version 5.2. These services went missing from the iPhone app when Microsoft released a redesigned version of its Skype mobile offering at the beginning of June. In a blog post published on Monday, Skype said they have been listening to user feedback since the release of the redesigned app and have decided to add the most requested features including voice message support.

New iOS Apps, Games and JB Tweaks of the Week: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and More...

Two games broke the $10 price mark on the App Store this week. Civilization Revolution 2 and Capcom's Monster Hunter Freedom Unite both made their iOS debut at $14.99 each. While this isn't the highest prices we have seen on the App Store, it does show that developers are still willing to release games that are not driven by micro-transactions. In other mobile gaming news, Rayark released a trailer for its upcoming 3D action game, Implosion. The entire Infinity Blade series has been discounted for the 4th of July. You can nab Infinity Blade for $0.99, Infinity Blade II for $1.99 and Infinity Blade 3 for $2.99.

iOS App of the Week: Denny's Atari Remix

Denny's Atari Remix is one of the of the oddest apps to hit the App Store in recent memory. At first I thought it was just a joke like WhatsApplebee's, but it is an actual game created by the restaurant chain Denny's. That's right, Denny's has teamed up with Atari to launch a collection of "diner-themed video games" for iOS devices.

Denny's Atari Remix

Denny's Atari Remix features three Atari classics re-imagined as breakfast. Hashteroids is Denny's spin on Asteroids where you control a ketchup bottle rocket while trying to blast "clumps of golden-brown potatoes before they destroy you". Centipup is based on the original Centipede, and Take-Out is like Breakout but with eggs and bacon instead of bricks. The app also features a button to open Denny's main app in the rare chance that you already have it installed on your device.
