Facebook is back in the news lately. Some people with social media accounts are getting more uncomfortable with having their personal data online. This includes Facebook, which is under increasing scrutiny as data mining companies seek to take advantage of the vast amount of data the company collects. Opting out can be an easy way to avoid sharing information with the wrong people or with sketchy organizations.

There remains a large gray area and many pending court cases regarding search and seizure of smartphones by the police and federal agents. Currently you can not be compelled to unlock your smartphone and police need probable cause to seize it, but border agents do not. With Face ID however, it wouldn't be difficult for a federal agent to take your iPhone and point it at you in order to unlock it. Considering how much personal information people have on their smartphones, the heated debate between privacy advocates and law enforcement is not surprising.

Amazon Prime membership comes with a plethora of benefits aside from free shipping, including vast libraries of movies and music in Prime Video and Prime Music, cloud storage with Amazon Drive and more. Despite all of this, if you don't use it all that much you may not want to pay the annual $99 membership fee, or the monthly fee that recently increased to $12.99 from $10.99.

Battery life is a perennial concern for smartphone users as the technology always seems to be a step behind in delivering what each year's new hardware and software demand. The iPhone X, however, has a superb battery that easily lasts all day and more with moderate use.
