In the movies, biometric security is often thwarted with a body part. Need to fool a retina scanner to enter a vault? Well just bring the correct eyeball and you've got the jewels.
Now that the iPhone 5s includes a fingerprint sensor, this has some people wondering if a severed finger can be used to access the Touch ID system. Luckily, Mashable has weighed in on the prospect, and as they say "your fingers are safe."

The three most popular cameras on Flickr are iSight cameras, equipped on the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. Apple looks poised to hold onto this position for some time, with the iPhone 5s incorporating several advances to make iSight camera picture quality even better than before.
While the image sensor retains the same 8 megapixel resolution as its predecessor, the iPhone 5s sensor is 15 percent larger in size. With a redesigned 5-element lens, larger pixels (1.5 microns) and a wider aperture at f/2.2 the new camera is 33 percent more sensitive to light. This all means better images can be captured in low light situations.

Apple's next-generation iPhones are almost here, and you're going to want a new case to compliment and protect your shiny new iPhone 5c or iPhone 5s when it arrives. Thankfully there are a lot of options to choose from, starting with Apple's own official line of next-generation cases. Here are a few examples of third party cases, skins and screen protectors in case Apple's "Connect Four-look" isn't what you had in mind.
This is the first time the iPhone is being offered in more than two colors, so why cover it up? Griffin Technology has just launched its new Survivor Clear for the iPhone 5c. The see-through case not only allows you to show off your colorful new iPhone, but it guards against drops and bumps thanks to its clear polycarbonate shell and TPE rubber edges. Griffin also claims that the Survivor Clear will protect your device even if you drop it on "hard pavement". The Survivor Clear for the iPhone 5c is available for $30.
UPDATE: The Survivor Clear has not been released yet, but Griffin's Reveal Case ($20) and Survivor Custom Case ($50) for the iPhone 5s are currently available.

Apple sent an email to customers letting them know that the iPhone 5s will be available through its online store at 12:01 a.m. PST on September 20, 2013. iOS fans will also be able to pick up the next-generation handset at their local Apple store at 8 a.m. on the same day.
The iPhone 5s will be available in silver, gold, and space gray for $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB) and $399 (64GB) with a two year contract from AT&T, Verizon Wireless or Sprint. T-mobile customers will be able to nab the 16GB model for $99 down via Apple.com or T-Mobile.com.

T-Mobile has officially announced its pricing plans for Apple's next-generation devices. The carrier will begin accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 5c on September 13, 2013 through T-Mobile.com for zero dollars down, plus 24 monthly installments of $22. That makes the T-Mobile model $21 less than Apple's off-contract iPhone 5c price of $549
The iPhone 5s will be available on September 20, 2013 for $99 down, plus 24 monthly payments of $22.91 for a total of $648.84. That's around the same price as Apple's contract free model. AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint will be offering the same 16GB model for $199 with a two year contract, and the 16GB iPhone 5c will cost you $99 through those same carriers.
