What's Better: Kingdom Rush 2 or Plants vs. Zombies 2?

Over the last few years Tower Defense games have become watered down and uninspired. The genre has fallen victim to copycat developers who spend more time coming up with goofy concepts rather than tapping the format’s potential to create new, fun and challenging games. However, there have been two diamonds in the rough for Tower Defense fans: Kingdom Rush and Plants vs. Zombies. Both started as free flash games, and both have found well deserved success on iOS and Android devices, making them two of the most popular current Tower Defense games available today.

Kingdom Rush vs. Plants Vs. Zombies

In 2013, Ironhide Studios released the long awaited sequel to Kingdom Rush, and PopCap (now owned by EA) released Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time. Both games quickly rose to the top of the App Store Charts soon after their release, and both were well received by fans and critics. But which game is the best Tower Defense game currently available for iOS devices?

Plants vs. Zombies 2 Available for iOS Tomorrow

After almost being delayed for a month, the long awaited sequel to the popular Plants vs. Zombies iOS game will be available tomorrow. Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time is the first official sequel since the original game was released in 2009. That's unless you count the few spin-offs like the Facebook game Plants vs. Zombies Adventures.

The release of the sequel is so highly anticipated that the App Store posted a teaser image to its Facebook page alongside a message that reads: "It's about time. Guess what game is coming tomorrow?"

Allen Murray, Senior Producer for Plants vs. Zombies 2 promised fans that the game would feature plenty of new content and a entirely new gaming experience. However, some are worried about the game's freemium status. This means the game will be free to download, but it will most likely require some in-app purchases to be able to enjoy the full experience.

Knightmare Tower Now Available for iOS Devices

The popular flash game Knightmare Tower is now available for iOS devices. In the game, players must launch their knight off the heads of monsters to propel themselves to the top of the Knightmare Tower to save the ten princesses. Users earn gold along the way to spend on various upgrades such as potions and accessories. The iOS version features different armors, swords and boots for those who like a little extra bling in their video games. Other features include a campaign mode with 70 quests, a survival mode, over 50 monsters to slice and dice, plus an epic boss battle.

Knightmare Tower is a fun game that adds an interesting twist the the toss game genre. Think Burrito Bison if the goal was to go vertical instead of horizontal. Also don't let yourself be fooled by the cute looking cartoon graphics, Knightmare Tower is just as challenging as it is addictive

Infinity Blade 3 in Testing for Fall Release?

After the recent demise of Infinity Blade Dungeons, fans of the franchise on iOS are looking for good news. A senior QA tester at Chair Entertainment may have filled the void, adding to speculation that Infinity Blade 3 is currently in development. Michael Lochrane listed the project on his LinkedIn profile as seen below.

Infinity Blade 3 leak

There has been no official announcement regarding Infinity Blade III, however Chair co-founder Donald Mustard stated the company's intention to continue expanding the Infinity Blade universe with future games, books and other products. Assuming Lochrane's post is legit, the next sequel could be headed to iOS this fall, with the release of the iPhone 5S and iOS 7.
