Will the iPhone 5 Feature an Apple A6 Processor?

We've come to expect Apple to launch new and improved mobile processors in iPads lately, then move them over to the iPhone. Well if the photo below is for real, the iPhone 5 will feature an A6 processor, one step ahead of the A5X found in the Retina display iPad.

The image was picked up by AppleInsider and is poor quality. With some enhancement, the A6 marking can clearly be seen on what is purported to be the iPhone 5 logic board. If authentic, the image is the first to leak of the next generation iPhone processor.

T-Mobile Preparing to Woo iPhone Users with 'Big Savings'

T-Mobile may not be an official Apple partner, but the company is making serious moves to increase the amount of iPhones used on its network. According to a leaked flyer obtained by TMONews, the carrier is preparing to launch a "Bring Your iPhone to T-Mobile" campaign.

The flyer shows how much money AT&T customers will save if they bring their unlocked iPhones to T-Mobile. The carrier's move comes after AT&T's Mobile Share Plan / FaceTime controversy, and right before Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5 in Spetmeber. iOS 6 will add 3G cellular calling to the popular FaceTime feature on the iPhone 4S and later models, and AT&T has announced that its subscribers will need a Mobile Share data plan to use the 3G service. T-Mobile hopes AT&T's unpopular FaceTime policy will convince some AT&T subscribers to switch carriers, but that's not all T-Mobile has up its sleeve.

The iPhone 5 Cable That Will Change Everything

More evidence has appeared of what looks to be the next generation charging and sync cable from Apple. Moving to an 8-pin symmetrical design will allow the cable to be plugged in without concerns about the orientation of the dock connector.

iLounge explains that the photo could be of a replacement cable or an authentic Apple part with pre-production stamps on the full-sized USB end of the cable. The design of the cable certainly looks like existing 30-pin dock connector cables that have been in use on all of Apple's mobile devices since 2003.

iPhone 5 Launch Date Confirmed by AT&T Schedule

More confirmation of the next generation iPhone release date has arrived from wireless carrier AT&T Mobility. Staff have received notice that a vacation blackout is in effect between the dates of September 21 and September 30, 2012. This matches similar regulations imposed on Verizon Wireless employees.

The news comes from TechCrunch's sources within the company, who state that AT&T employees are training for nothing less than an "iconic release". There's nothing much on the near-term mobile device horizon that sounds as iconic as the highly-anticipated iPhone 5 launch coming this fall.

Is This What the iPhone 5 Dock Adapter Will Look Like?

Well it seems that melablog has the iPhone 5 30-pin dock adapter all figured out. The concept below shows us what could be in store for next generation iPhone users who need to connect to some older accessories.

There have been never ending reports of a smaller iPhone 5 dock connector, with 8 or 9 pins. Besides saving space in the iPhone 5 chassis, this connector is said to be symmetrical and even feature a MagSafe connector.
