Goal Defense and The Creeps: Two Free Great Tower Defense Games for the iPhone and iPad

I still believe Pirate Defense is one of the greatest Tower Defense games ever created, but it's not available for iOS devices. That makes Kingdom Rush my favorite iPhone/iPad Tower Defense game by default. However, if you have already taken my advice and played both Pirate Defense and Kingdom Rush, and are looking for something new to play, here are two great TD games you might have missed.

The Creeps (Free w/ option to buy more levels)

iPhone Tower Defense Games

The Creeps is one of the most popular TD games with over three million downloads. If you're new to the world of TD games and have never given The Creeps a chance, stop what you are doing and download it immediately! You won't be disappointed.

In The Creeps, players must defend their bedroom from the monsters in their closet by using various weapons such as glue bottles and flashlights. The game features Game Center support, over 60 achievements and 25 free levels with the option to purchase more. If you do get addicted, and you will, I suggest buying the All Access Pass, which unlocks everything for $5.99.

Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour has Arrived on iOS

More iOS games? Could it be a better week for iPhone and iPod touch gaming enthusiasts? This week has already seen announcements of Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Final Fantasy IV, and brand new levels in Angry Birds Seasons. Now Gameloft has added Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour to the list of iOS titles available on the App Store.

Modern Combat 4 FPS iOS

Thanks to use of the Havok Engine, Gameloft has been touting the mobile graphics in the game as nothing less than console-quality. Sure, the game might set you back $6.99 on iTunes, but there's a reason why it's been known as the number one FPS.

Final Fantasy IV Coming to iOS December 20

iPhone and iPad gamers will be able to enjoy Final Fantasy 4 from Square Enix in just two weeks. An official release date of December 20 will bring the updated title to iOS for an introductory sale price. After the intro period the developer is expected to set App Store pricing at $17.99 for the premium Final Fantasy experience.

iOS Final Fantasy IV

Unlike the original title, which launched in 1991 on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, the iOS version will feature upgraded 3D graphics. The new look is based on the Nintendo DS version of Final Fantasy IV, which made the jump from two-dimensional graphics to 3D in 2008.

GTA Vice City Coming to Apple iOS December 6

Rockstar Games has confirmed the 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be released for iOS and Android on December 6th. Fans of the game can expect the title to sell on the App Store for $4.99, matching the price of Grand Theft Auto III.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City iOS release date

Besides GTA 3, Rockstar has also released Max Payne Mobile and GTA Chinatown Wars on iTunes. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Vice City, Rockstar will release several enhancements to the game in the iOS version. Native high-resolution graphics will bring all of the excitement of the console version to mobile.
