Apple kicks off digital ID in Wallet with Arizona

Arizona is breaking new ground as the first state to support Apple's digital state ID and driver's license. Residents can submit their digital ID for approval, which adds the document to the Wallet app on iPhone. Once added, the iPhone or Apple Watch can be used to present the digital ID in place of a traditional card at TSA checkpoints in Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. Apple plans to launch the technology in additional US locales soon.

Apple has officially announced its special media event titled "Peek performance" scheduled for March 8, 2022. The spring product launch kicks off on Tuesday at 1pm Eastern time (10am Pacific). Apple will broadcast the event live online, forgoing the in-person presentation for the second year running. Several new products are expected to make their debut at the annual event. One year ago, Apple introduced AirTags alongside new 24-inch iMacs and a refreshed Apple TV.

iPhone 14 to feature 'hole-punch and pill' design

Apple looks poised to place the letter "i" on the front of the next generation iPhone, if reports are true. The iPhone 14 may shed its famous notch at the top of the screen for a different configuration of sensor cutouts. The so-called "hole-punch and pill" design has been leaked through purported schematics (above) and a photo of a screen component from behind. Rumors indicate Apple is moving away from a full notch design but still needs to accommodate a long list of sensors in front of the iPhone 14.

Replay offers Apple Music subscribers their top 100 most played songs, top 10 albums of the year, and a list of most favorite artists. The information updates automatically throughout the year as the hours of music listening add up, powered by Apple Music algorithms in the background.

Powerbeats Pro celebrates 75 years of NBA

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is celebrating its 75-year anniversary throughout the 2021-22 season. Apple is joining the party with special edition NBA-branded Beats Powerbeats Pro. Canadian retailer Better helped design the ivory-colored wireless earphones, with the NBA logo on one side and blue and red ear tips to match. The Better logo is featured on the opposite side, with the Beats logo featured in blue and red as well.
