It's an awful feeling when you get a message from your wireless carrier indicating you've gone over your data plan. Overage charges these days are outrageous and the process of calling customer support to see if they will give you a break is rarely worth the effort.

The iPhone has some impressive features that run in the background which can do things like sync information between devices, automatically update applications and so on. However, if you aren't careful those background activities can really take a bite out of your cellular data. Here are a few things you can do to ensure you never get one of those messages again.

Agrar.io managed to make quite a splash when it debuted as a web browser game last year, but ever since it was featured in the latest season of House of Cards this curious little game has sprung up the charts as a top iOS app.

So what is Agar.io? It’s a game where you start off as a small colored cell that must eat smaller cells (including other players) in order to grow larger. The goal is to become the biggest cell on the map and reach the top of the in-game leaderboard and of course to avoid getting eaten yourself.

Earlier this year, Twitter rolled out a new timeline that prioritizes specific Tweets based on an algorithm. According to the company, Tweets are selected to show up first based on "accounts you interact with most, Tweets you engage with," and other considerations. Many long-time Twitter fans decried the new system, preferring the old timeline that organized Tweets chronologically. For those who are interested, there is still a way to place the most recent Tweets first.

The 3D Touch feature of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, while not earth-shattering by any stretch, is designed to streamline everyday use of both native and third party apps. In some cases it does the job well, in others it seems like a waste. As such, some people are enthusiasts while others seem to mostly ignore it.
