Dark (or night) mode has become a must have feature for apps and devices over the past year or so. It is basically a display theme that is easier on the eyes in low light settings. A typical dark mode has some variation of a darker background with lighter text as opposed to the normal white background/black text, making it much more comfortable to read your phone in the dark.

A great way to relive vacations or journeys abroad, or to keep family, friends and loved ones on your mind, is to display photos of them. One of the best ways to do that is to set them as a background wallpaper or screensaver (or both) on your Mac. This is easily done, as long as you are syncing photos with iCloud on both your Mac and your iPhone and/or iPad.

Facebook, by default, is set up to send you notifications via SMS for just about everything that can happen - comments on posts, friend requests, birthdays, friends' updates and more. The notifications seem to be random as well, sometimes there are none for a while, then all of a sudden a flood. Depending on how active you are on Facebook, these text notifications can quickly become a nuisance. If you suddenly find yourself being bombarded with text notifications from FB, you can turn them off completely or better yet, pare them down to only what's important to you.

To many people, augmented reality is likely associated with the ultra-popular (if somewhat infamous) Pokémon Go, in which players attempt to collect various species of the titular creature in real world locations, where the app renders the pokémon on the imagery provided by the camera. This kind of mixed reality has many more uses however, and the technology is only in its infancy.

If you use the News app and follow multiple channels, and you have notifications turned on for each of them, you are probably inundated with alerts of breaking news stories. While you likely dismiss most of them, there are probably a few that catch your eye as something worthwhile, but you either don't have time to read them at the moment or aren't in an appropriate setting to do so. If such is the case, you can always save stories to peruse later - a great way to curate a reading list for when you have some down time.
