iPhone 3GS Available June 19th: Get the Details

As expected, Apple's third incarnation of their revolutionary iPhone was announced today at the 2009 WWDC. Though the iPhone announcement followed big, exciting news about new Macbook models and a whirling overview of Snow Leopard, like you, it was the iPhone 3GS grit we were waiting for. After a short session of back-patting about the success of the iPhone AppStore and in-depth overview of the new iPhone OS 3.0, Apple dished out the goods on the new iPhone model.

Phil Schiller announced the new iPhone 3GS as a "really fast iPhone", and then offered up supporting benchmarks that show the new iPhone 3GS as roughly 2x faster than the iPhone 3G model, across most applications.

Schiller also confirmed the presence of 7.2Mbps HSDPA support and gave an in-depth overview of the new 3 megapixel camera in the iPhone 3GS. The new camera offers exciting features such as macro photo taking as close as 10cm from your subject, tap-to-focus

iPhone OS 3.0 to Launch Without MMS and Tethering Support from AT&T

During today's keynote address at WWDC 2009, Scott Forstall - head of Apple iPhone software development - gave the audience a detailed overview of many of the new features in OS 3.0, including copy & paste, shake-to-undo, spotlight searching, and more. Two of the "more" were the highly anticipated support for MMS (multimedia messaging) and tethering (the ability to share your iPhone wireless connection with your PC).

More leaked images of the next iPhone? Whether these are real or not, they certainly add more fuel to the blaze of speculation preceding WWDC this coming Monday. If these accurately represent the next iPhone model, Apple has quite a few tricks up its sleeve.

More iPhone 3.0 Features Revealed Ahead of WWDC

Apple's WWDC is right around the corner, but this hasn't stopped the continuous stream of discoveries, leaks and rumors surrounding the next generation iPhone. This photo of a banner hanging at the WWDC venue all but ensures the conference will focus on iPhone 3.0 and the AppStore.

Several new features are now on the horizon. BusinessWeek reports that Apple has already included code in iPhone OS 3.0 that would allow users to directly share apps with each other. Analysts have even suggested that the person sending the app could receive a commission from the AppStore.

3G iPhone NOT Released at 2008 WWDC, but Coming Very Soon

As expected, Apple has announced the arrival of the second generation 3G iPhone. The announcement occured just moments ago at this years WWDC (world wide developers conference) at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. Steve Jobs announced the next generation Apple iPhone and all its glory to a crowd of anxious observers who had many a set of cross fingers anticipating the announcement.
